The 2024 Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, co-organised by ACI Sport and Alpine Racing and certified by the FIA, has reached its halfway point, marking a period of considerable achievement. As a rapidly growing series, it has firmly positioned itself as a pivotal stage in the motorsport hierarchy, bridging the gap between Formula 4 and Formula 3, providing a crucial stepping stone towards the highest level of competition in Formula 1.
The championship has once again demonstrated its appeal through impressive participation figures. This season, 39 drivers have participated in the series, with an average of 32 cars on the grid each race weekend. The grid is a testament to the championship’s international scope, featuring competitors from 20 different countries, including Australia, Brazil, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Great Britain, India, Italy, Mexico, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, and the USA. The series is supported by 11 prestigious teams, which contribute to its global reach and competitive spirit.
Beyond the track, FRECA has bolstered its media presence worldwide. The series is now covered in over 40 regions through more than 80 broadcasters, making it accessible to motorsport fans across Europe, the Americas, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and Africa. Notable broadcasters include ACI Sport TV in Italy, Viaplay in the Baltics and Nordics, BeIn in the Middle East and North Africa and Asia-Pacific regions, and DAZN in France, Spain, Italy, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Israel, and South Korea. In Latin America, coverage is provided by Direct TV and Fox Sports Mexico, while Speed Sport 1 serves audiences in the USA and Canada. Hungary’s Arena4 also joins the list, enhancing the championship’s visibility.
