Giltaire leads the way in first Collective Test at Monza

The Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine returned to the track this morning for the first collective test of the weekend, which, as usual, lasted 50 minutes.

Once again, the young drivers of the international series faced a wet track for the entire session, where a fast Evan Giltaire put everyone behind him. The ART Grand Prix driver has shown throughout the year that he is one of the key players in the championship, boasting a victory in the first race at Hockenheim and a runner-up finish at the Red Bull Ring, where he was also the top rookie in the first Austrian race. His teammate, Alessandro Giusti, representing the Williams Academy, also impressed, finishing with the second-best time, just 15 thousandths behind his fellow countryman.

Ugo Ugochukwu (Prema Racing) continued to perform well at the Temple of Speed, with the American confirming his strong form at the Monza circuit after topping the timesheets in yesterday’s tests. This morning, he finished third ahead of Pedro Clerot (Van Amersfoort Racing). James Wharton (Prema Racing) continued his momentum from Barcelona, once again ranking among the fastest, finishing fifth in the session. Enzo Peugeot (Saintéloc Racing) was also on form, securing sixth place ahead of Ivan Domingues (Van Amersfoort Racing), followed by his teammate Brando Badoer, Nikita Bedrin (MP Motorsport), and Théophile Naël (Saintéloc Racing), who rounded out the top 10.

The series will return to action this afternoon at 14:05 for the second session.
