The 2025 Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine officially got underway this morning at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, with the first 50-minute Collective Test session launching the championship’s fifth edition in sunny conditions.
Evan Giltaire (ART Grand Prix) set the benchmark pace in the morning session, clocking a fastest time of 1:29.655 to open his weekend strongly. The French driver was closely followed by Pedro Clerot (Van Amersfoort Racing), just 0.157s adrift, while Kanato Le (ART Grand Prix) secured third with a solid 1:29.874.
Completing the top five were Matteo De Palo (Trident) and reigning Italian F4 Champion Freddie Slater (Prema Racing), both showing encouraging early form. The rest of the top ten featured Taito Kato (ART Grand Prix), Enzo Peugeot (RPM), Akshay Bohra (R-ace GP), Nikita Bedrin (Saintéloc Racing), and Nandhavud Bhirombhakdi (Trident), all within striking distance.
Just outside the top ten, Dion Gowda (Van Amersfoort Racing), Jack Beeton (Prema Racing), and Hiyu Yamakoshi (Van Amersfoort Racing) recorded competitive times, with Rashid Al Dhaheri (Prema Racing) and Ruiqi Liu (Trident) rounding out the top 15 of a tightly contested session.
The session was briefly halted by three red flags, the first and final interruptions were triggered by Arthur Aegerter (G4 Racing), while the second was caused by Enzo Deligny (R-ace GP).
Track action resumes this afternoon with the second 50-minute Collective Test scheduled to begin at 15:30 local time.
