Enzo Peugeot wins the first newly launched Pirelli “Rising Car Award”

The paddock of Spa-Francorchamps hosted the season’s first presentation of the revamped Pirelli trophy: the “Rising Car Award.” This accolade is designed to celebrate progress and determination, reflecting the core values that embody the spirit of racing, perseverance and resilience, essential qualities for achieving outstanding results.

The “Rising Car Award” is presented to the driver who gains the most positions from the starting grid to the checkered flag over the race weekend. For the opening round at Misano, the award went to Enzo Peugeot of the RPM team. Across the two races, Peugeot climbed a total of 11 positions. In Race 1, starting from 18th on the grid, he crossed the line in 13th place, gaining 5 positions. In Race 2, he moved up from 17th to finish 11th.

There was a close battle for the trophy, as Chinese driver Ruiqi Liu (Trident) also gained 11 positions across the two races. However, Liu finished 14th and 12th, placing second in the Pirelli “Rising Car Award” classification, as the tie-breaker was determined by race results.

In addition to the event trophies awarded after each round, a season Champion will also be crowned. The driver who tops the cumulative standings of the “Rising Car Award” will receive the prestigious Pirelli Wheel at the Monza finale.

Enzo Peugeot: “It was a great couple of races, both Race 1 and Race 2. I made a lot of overtakes. It wasn’t quite the result I was expecting, but we definitely showed strong pace in the races. We just need to work on our qualifying. This gives me a lot of confidence going into Spa: hopefully we can start further up and make just as many overtakes!”
