Jin Nakamura tops the First Collective Test at the Hungaroring

The Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine resumed track action this morning at the Hungaroring, where Jin Nakamura delivered the benchmark performance in the first collective test of the weekend. Under warm, dry conditions, the R-ace GP driver stopped the clocks in 1:39.242, confirming both his and the team’s excellent form.

Just 29 thousandths behind, Matteo De Palo maintained his strong momentum for Trident, while his teammate Nandhavud Bhirombhakdi slotted into third place, a further 0.045s adrift, ensuring the Italian squad placed both cars in the top three.

Enzo Deligny ended fourth for R-ace GP with a time of 1:39.410, ahead of Pedro Clerot (Van Amersfoort Racing), who continued to show himself among the front-runners, building on the momentum from Zandvoort where he secured his maiden victory in the series, and eventually closed the morning in fifth position.

Akshay Bohra secured sixth position for R-ace GP, with Dion Gowda, once again the fastest rookie, setting the seventh-best time overall as he continues to underline his consistent pace and adaptability.

Completing the top ten were Freddie Slater (Prema Racing) in eighth, Rashid Al Dhaheri (Prema Racing) ninth, and Evan Giltaire (ART Grand Prix) rounding out the group.

Further down, Hiyu Yamakoshi (Van Amersfoort Racing) narrowly missed the top ten in eleventh place, ahead of Michael Belov (CL Motorsport), with both drivers separated by less than a tenth.

The Hungarian circuit proved challenging yet again, with incredibly close margins: the first 16 drivers were covered by just over a second, showcasing the high level of competitiveness that has defined this season.

The Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine will be back on track later today for the second collective test session, scheduled to start at 16:02 local time.
