The Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine heads to Monza this weekend for the grand finale of the 2025 season. A weekend that will not only crown the new champion, but also celebrate a special milestone with the 100th race in the series’ history, set to take place in Sunday’s Race 2.
It all comes down to this. After nine fiercely contested rounds across Europe, three drivers from three different teams remain in contention for the 2025 crown. Freddie Slater (Prema Racing) leads the standings with 263 points, followed closely by Matteo De Palo (Trident Motorsport) on 259, while Enzo Deligny (R-ace GP), currently third with 233, keeps his title hopes alive heading into the final battle at the Temple of Speed.
One of them will be etched in the championship’s history as the fifth title winner, following Grégoire Saucy (2021), Dino Beganovic (2022), Andrea Kimi Antonelli (2023) and Rafael Camara (2024).
Beyond the title contenders, several drivers are still fighting to improve their positions in the overall standings. Pedro Clerot (Van Amersfoort Racing) currently sits in fourth overall with 212 points, followed by Akshay Bohra (R-ace GP) on 155 and Evan Giltaire (ART Grand Prix) with 152. Rashid Al Dhaheri (Prema Racing) lies seventh with 95 points, ahead of Hiyu Yamakoshi (Van Amersfoort Racing) on 86 and Taito Kato (ART Grand Prix) on 83. Jin Nakamura (R-ace GP) completes the current top ten with 71 points.
Outside the top ten, Nikita Bedrin (Saintéloc Racing) is eleventh with 64 points, followed by rookie leader Dion Gowda (Van Amersfoort Racing), currently twelfth with 32 points and tied with Jack Beeton (Prema Racing). Kanato Le (ART Grand Prix) follows with 30 points, while Michael Belov (CL Motorspot) and Nandhavud Bhirombhakdi (Trident Motorsport) complete the top sixteen with 21 and 20 points respectively.
The Teams’ Championship remains wide open, with R-ace GP and Prema Racing battling it out for supremacy after trading the lead throughout the year.
Excitement also surrounds the final outcome of the Pirelli Rising Car Award, the trophy that rewards the most impressive recovery drives. The standings are incredibly close heading into Monza: Edouard Borgna 54 points, Taito Kato (49), Kanato Le (43), Dion Gowda (43) and Tim Gerhards (41). The award, assigned after each round based on positions gained in both races, will be decided this weekend with the winner receiving the symbolic Pirelli Wheel.
The action gets underway on Thursday with a Pre-Event Collective Test from 14:00 to 18:00. On Friday, teams and drivers will return to the track for two Collective Test sessions, at 09:20 and 12:05. Saturday features Qualifying 1 at 08:30 and Race 1 at 12:50, before the season reaches its climax on Sunday with Qualifying 2 at 08:30 and Race 2 at 14:50. As per tradition, both qualifying sessions and races will be broadcast live on the championship’s official YouTube channel and on TV through the networks that follow the series, including ACI Sport TV on channel 228 of Sky.
