The 2025 Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine officially kicked off its final round of the season at Monza with a single Pre Event Collective Test session, which was initially delayed due to heavy rain that hit the Temple of Speed early in the afternoon. As the rain ceased and the skies began to clear, drivers were finally able to take to the track and begin their preparations for the decisive weekend.
With the Drivers’ and Teams’ titles still up for grabs, it was Enzo Deligny (R-ace GP), one of the key contenders for the crown, who set the pace. The Frenchman topped the timesheets ahead of championship leader Freddie Slater (Prema Racing), who currently holds a 30-point advantage over Deligny and sits just 4 points clear of Matteo De Palo (Trident Motorsport), setting up an exciting three-way showdown as the season reaches its climax.
Dion Gowda (Van Amersfoort Racing), currently leading the Rookie standings, impressed once again by securing third in the session, confirming his strong form in the closing stages of the season.
Van Amersfoort Racing also placed Pedro Clerot in fourth, followed closely by ART Grand Prix’s Taito Kato in fifth, with Giovanni Maschio delivering a solid sixth place for RPM. Making his first appearance in the series, Tomass Štolcermanis showed good speed to finish seventh, also for RPM.
Evan Giltaire (ART Grand Prix) followed in eighth, while Hiyu Yamakoshi (Van Amersfoort Racing) and James Egozi (Saintéloc Racing) rounded out the top ten. Nikita Bedrin, also representing Saintéloc Racing, ended the session in 11th, just ahead of RPM’s Jan Przyrowski, who completed the top 12.
Track action resumes tomorrow, Friday, with the first Collective Test scheduled for 09:20 CET.
