Brando Badoer tops the second Collective Test at Imola

The second timed session of Friday also took place under the sun, which today warmed the Imola circuit as the numerous Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine cars took to the track.

At the end of the second session, it was Brando Badoer who came out on top. After completing 20 laps, he set the fastest time of the day (1’40.077). The Van Amersfoort Racing driver finished ahead of Rafael Camara (Prema Racing) by 40 hundredths, followed by the two other Dutch team rookies, Ivan Domingues and Pedro Clerot, who were third and fourth, respectively. Alessandro Giusti (ART Grand Prix), who set the fastest time this morning, was once again among the protagonists, finishing fifth at the end of the afternoon session.

Nikita Bedrin (MP Motorsport) also performed well, securing the sixth fastest time, ahead of Théophile Naël (Sainteloc Racing) and Tuukka Taponen (R-ace GP), who were seventh and eighth. Matteo De Palo (Sainteloc Racing) also finished in the top ten, despite being involved in a collision with Nicola Lacorte (Trident). The latter ended up stuck in the gravel at Tamburello, forcing race control to display the only red flag of the day.

Track action will resume tomorrow morning at 8:30 for the first qualifying session of the weekend, which will be broadcast live on the championship’s official YouTube channel.
