Camara again on the top of the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine pre-season collective tests

The last Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine pre-season collective tests are over in Monza, Rafael Camara topped again the session in preparation for the first official race weekend next week. The track of Autodromo Nazionale Monza held the third and last occasion to tune up the car and work on the setup foreseeing the upcoming season: the first one was held in Montmeló, with Tim Tramnitz (R-ace GP) obtaining the best lap at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya; then again at Le Castellet was the Brazilian of PREMA Racing the fastest of the two test days of Paul Ricard Circuit.

After being the fastest in both session of Monza day 1, Camara topped the afternoon session on the second day and signed the overall best lap with 1’46.118, besting his teammate Andrea Kimi Antonelli with only 3 thousand of a second gap. The Italian driver of PREMA Racing stands then extremely close to Camara, foreshadowing the return to the track of a rivalry already seen last year in the Italian F.4 Championship and earlier this year in the Middle East series.

Third best lap of the two days is signed by Tim Tramnitz during the morning session, with German driver mantaining a 0.275 gap from Camara’s fastest time.

P4 for Lorenzo Fluxa, the Spaniard, driving for PREMA Racing, finished the event with a gap of +0’299. Kas Haverkort followed him in fifth position, the Dutchman of Van Amersfoort Racing Team closed the top 5 with his best lap at +0.325.

With testing time officially over, starts now the (short) wait for the first of the ten round of the Championship, which will be held as early as next week on the track of Imola’s circuit (April 21-23).
