Enzo Deligny leads the opening Pre-Event Collective Test in Hungary

The Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine kicked off the race weekend at the Hungaroring today with the first Pre-Event Collective Test, which unfolded under clear skies and high track temperatures nearing 54°C.

Enzo Deligny (R-ace GP) emerged as the pacesetter, clocking a fastest lap of 1:40.202. The French driver was closely shadowed by Matteo De Palo (Trident), who ended the morning just 0.003 seconds adrift. Pedro Clerot (Van Amersfoort Racing) confirmed his speed with the third quickest time, only 0.023 seconds from the lead, highlighting once again how competitive the series is.

Thailand’s Nandhavud Bhirombhakdi (Trident) secured fourth, followed by Michael Belov (CL Motorsport) in fifth, who continued his solid run of form. Hiyu Yamakoshi (Van Amersfoort Racing) and Freddie Slater (Prema Racing) shared identical lap times to slot into sixth and seventh respectively.

Jin Nakamura (R-ace GP) placed eighth ahead of Evan Giltaire (ART Grand Prix), while Akshay Bohra completed the top ten. Nikita Bedrin (Saintéloc Racing) rounded out the leading group in eleventh position.

Remarkably, the top 17 drivers were covered by less than one second, underlining the remarkable level of parity that has become a hallmark of the championship.

The field will return to the track later today for the second Pre-Event Collective Test scheduled for 15:05 PM.
