Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine: Brando Badoer tops first Hungarian Collective Test

The Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine weekend continues at full throttle at the Hungaroring, where the first 50-minute Collective Test took place this morning. Despite the sunny and high temperatures, the 32 drivers of the international series further lowered the reference times compared to the two tests held yesterday. Once again, Brando Badoer excelled, driving a Van Amersfoort Racing car, showing excellent pace in this early part of the weekend. The Italian driver clocked the best time of 1’39″602, with the next 18 positions within less than a second, highlighting the high competitiveness of the teams and drivers on the grid this year.

Just over a tenth behind the leader was Tuukka Taponen (R-ace GP), also one of yesterday’s protagonists when he led the morning session. Behind the Finnish driver, another Ferrari Driver Academy member, Rafael Camara (Prema Racing), set the third-fastest time, ahead of Pedro Clerot (Van Amersfoort Racing) and Enzo Deligny (R-ace GP), who were the fastest rookies, finishing fourth and fifth, respectively. James Wharton (Prema Racing) also showed good form, finishing less than four-tenths behind Badoer with the sixth-fastest time, ahead of Enzo Peugeot (Sainteloc Racing). Zachary David (R-ace GP), Kanato Le (G4 Racing), and Noah Strømsted (RPM) completed the top 10.

All eyes are now on the next session, scheduled for this afternoon at 16:29.
