The third and final Pre-Season Collective Test of the 2025 Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine officially kicked off this morning at the Circuit Paul Ricard under clear skies and ideal track conditions. With the season opener just around the corner, teams and drivers are entering the final phase of their preparations.
It was Evan Giltaire (ART Grand Prix) who set the pace in the opening session of the day, stopping the clock at 1:57.727 and becoming the only driver to break the 1:58 barrier. The Frenchman showed strong form on home soil, building on his promising runs from the previous tests in Barcelona and Misano.
Freddie Slater (Prema Racing) was close behind in second, just 0.454s off the benchmark, while Japan’s Taito Kato (ART Grand Prix) completed the top three, a mere 9 thousandths behind the British driver. Also within half a second of the leader were Hiyu Yamakoshi (VAR) and Pedro Clerot (VAR), who continue to show strong early-season potential.
Kanato Le (ART Grand Prix) posted the sixth fastest time ahead of Australian driver Jack Beeton (Prema Racing), while Enzo Deligny (R-ace GP), Rashid Al Dhaheri (Prema Racing), and Nikita Bedrin (Saintéloc Racing) rounded out the top ten.
Filling the top 15 spots were Matteo De Palo (Trident), followed by Dion Gowda (VAR), Jin Nakamura (R-ace GP), Edouard Borgna (G4 Racing), and Doriane Pin (Prema Racing), all separated by just over a second from the front.
The Paul Ricard test continues this afternoon with the second and final session of the day scheduled from 14:00 to 18:00.
