The first qualifying session of the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine at Monza has been canceled due to adverse weather conditions and for safety reasons. A wet track and heavy rain made it impossible to proceed with the session, as the cars from Group A took to the track but were unable to set any representative lap times.

As a result, the pole position for the first race at the Temple of Speed is in the hands of Ugo Ugochukwu (Prema Racing). The starting grid for the race will be determined based on the results of yesterday’s second collective test. Ugochukwu, who posted the fastest time of 1’47″446, will lead the field. He will be joined on the front row by Roman Bilinski (Trident Motorsport), who finished just under two-tenths behind. Rafael Camara (Prema Racing), the reigning champion, will start from third, with James Wharton (Prema Racing) lining up in fourth position as he pursues the runner-up spot in the standings. The third row will feature Trident’s cars with Ruiqi Liu in fifth and Nicola Lacorte in sixth.

Evan Giltaire (ART Grand Prix) will start from seventh, followed closely by Valerio Rinicella (MP Motorsport) in eighth. Alessandro Giusti (ART Grand Prix) and Théophile Naël (Saintéloc Racing) complete the top ten on the starting grid.

The first race of the weekend is scheduled for this afternoon at 13:25 and will be broadcast live on the championship’s official YouTube channel, as well as on all the TV broadcasters following the series.
Ugo Ugochukwu – Prema Racing
“We had to face challenging conditions from the start of the weekend with a consistently wet track. However, our pace was good right from the beginning. In the second Collective Test, we made further progress, managing to improve our performance thanks to a good feeling with the car since we started running here. Obviously, I’m very happy to be starting from the front row for Race 1, which we’ll likely have to tackle in wet conditions again.”
