Maya Weug returns to the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine at Hungaroring

The Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine will welcome back a familiar face this weekend as Maya Weug returns to the grid for the Hungarian round at the Hungaroring.

The talented driver first rose to prominence in the Italian Formula 4 Championship, where she showcased her skills at the junior single-seater level. In 2023, Weug stepped up to the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, delivering a season marked by consistent performances and highlighted by a rookie class victory at Spa-Francorchamps.

After a one-off appearance in FRECA last year, she has been competing full time in the F1 Academy, where she concluded the 2024 season in third place overall with Prema Racing. In 2025, she continues her campaign in the all-female series and remains firmly in contention for the top positions in the championship standings.

This weekend, Weug will return to the FRECA paddock with Saintéloc Racing, taking over the seat of Tim Gerhards, who is unable to compete due to injury.
