Owen Tangavelou joins G4 Racing for the 2022 season

After having confirmed the agreement with Matias Zagazeta, team G4 Racing has announced the name of the second driver for the 2022 Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine.

17-year-old French Owen Tangavelou joins the Barcelona-based Swiss operation team, with which he was protagonist of an intense testing program that led him to improve the feeling with the car.

In February 2022, he also took part in three rounds of the Formula Regional Asian Championship, gaining crucial experience prior to the start of the European series.

In 2021 Tangavelou was a front-runner in his second French F4 Championship campaign, where he secured fifth place in the overall standings with one win and five podiums.

Adrian Muñoz (Sporting and Technical Manager):

“We evaluated Owen in all possible conditions during the winter and I am very happy to have him in the team for the coming season. After two successful years in the French F4 Championship, I’m sure he is going to be one of the best rookies in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine. He trained himself very hard with a part-time program in the Formula Regional Asian Championship, and he is now ready to start preparations for an exciting run in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine.”

Owen Tangavelou (Driver):

“I’m very delighted to join G4 Racing. The people in the team are very serious, and the car is highly efficient. I feel comfortable with them and I will do my best to perform. I’m looking forward to racing soon.”
