James Wharton made his car racing debut with the team in 2022 coming from karting. The young Australian, born in 2006, quickly got his first wins in the Formula 4 UAE Championship and went on to a positive European campaign, collecting a win and multiple podium finishes in the Italian and German Formula 4 championships. At the end of his rookie year, he took fifth place overall in both series. For 2023, he continued his winning form, taking the Formula 4 UAE title early in the season. He then achieved fourth place in the Italian championship and fought for the new Euro4 Championship title before settling as a runner-up. For 2024, he will make the step to the challenging European series and compete on 10 of Europe’s finest racetracks. With PREMA’s four-car lineup now complete, the team is now looking forward to the pre-season preparations.
