Pirelli, in collaboration with ACI Sport and Alpine Racing, proudly announces the return of its exclusive trophy initiative in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine for the 2025 season: the “Rising Car Award.” Following the successful debut of the award in 2024, which was won by Giovanni Maschio (RPM), the new season brings renewed focus on rewarding drivers who show exceptional progress and determination throughout each race weekend.

Honouring Progress and Determination

The Rising Car Award continues to reflect the core values of perseverance and racing spirit. The concept is simple: to recognize the driver who gains the most positions from the starting grid to the chequered flag.
Each race presents an opportunity for competitors to prove their resilience, adaptability and racecraft, key traits that the award seeks to highlight.

Scoring and Eligibility

The award is open to all registered drivers in the 2025 FRECA season. Points are awarded based on the number of positions gained during each race. For instance, a driver starting 12th and finishing 6th would collect 6 points. Only positive changes are counted (there are no penalties for losing positions), but a disqualification results in a 10-point deduction from the cumulative score.

To be eligible for the final season ranking, drivers must take part in at least eight rounds of the championship.
The classification per round is based on each race, while the season total is the sum of points collected across all races. In case of a tie, the ranking will be decided by the number of individual event wins, followed by second places, pole positions, rookie status, and the youngest age.

Trophies and Recognition

Two levels of recognition will be awarded:

• Event Winner: A Rising Car Award trophy will be presented to the top-scoring driver at each
event during the following round.

• Season Champion: At the conclusion of the championship in Monza, the driver who tops the
cumulative Rising Car standings will receive the prestigious Pirelli Wheel, symbolizing their
standout progress over the year.
