The day dedicated to collective tests on the Austrian track at the Red Bull Ring comes to an end. In the second session, Samie Meguetounif, the French star of MP Motorsport, secured the best lap with 1’27.154. Rafael Camara’s time set in the morning session (1’26.484) has then remained unbeaten as the fastest of the day. Closing out the top 3 was Hadrien David, making his first appearance under Monolite Racing’s insignia, who was the third French driver on top of the session with a gap of 0.061. Tom Lebbon, representing Arden, finished fourth, and was the last driver staying within a tenth of a second with a gap of 0.096. Following him was his Paraguayan teammate Joshua Duerksen, at 0.141. Esteban Masson, from Saintéloc Racing, completed the best lap with a gap of 0.187, securing the sixth spot in the test, ahead of the Dutch driver Kas Haverkort of Van Amersfoort Racing, who was 0.268 behind Meguetounif. Alessandro Giusti, racing for G4 Racing, finished eighth with a gap of 0.327 seconds. Rounding out the top 10 were two Trident drivers, the Polish driver Roman Bilinski at 0.351; then the French driver Owen Tangavelou at 0.373. The close gaps in today’s two sessions build anticipation for tomorrow’s on-track action. Activities resume tomorrow morning with the first qualifying session, which will determine Race 1’s starting grid. It promises to be a last-minute showdown that will provide great excitement, much like the highly competitive qualifying sessions that have characterized the season up to this point.
