Evan Giltaire shines in first day of Hockenheim testing

The Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine hit the track this afternoon at Hockenheim for the second official testing session under dry conditions and sunshine. This optimal weather allowed the drivers to significantly lower their times compared to the morning session, which was marked by wet conditions due to rain.

Evan Giltaire clocked the fastest time of the day, stopping the timers at 1’35”883 in an ART Grand Prix single-seater. The French F4 champion edged out Pedro Clerot (Van Amersfoort Racing) by 0.118 seconds, who in turn finished

ahead of Ferrari Driver Academy’s Rafael Camara (Prema Racing), who took third place.

Brando Badoer (Van Amersfoort Racing) also performed well once again, securing the fourth fastest time ahead of Roman Bilinski (Trident) and Ugo Ugochukwu (Prema Racing), who finished fifth and sixth respectively. The top 10 was rounded out by Alessandro Giusti (ART Grand Prix), Noah Strømsted (RPM), Kanato Le (G4 Racing), and Nikita Bedrin (MP Motorsport), who had been the fastest in this morning’s session.

The series, organized by ACI Sport and Alpine Racing, will return to the track tomorrow morning at 9:15 for the penultimate session.
