In the second and final on-track session on Friday for the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine cars, Martinius Stenshorne once again emerged as the fastest. The Norwegian driver representing R-ace GP recorded a lap time of 1’44.199. In the early afternoon, the track temperature at the Scarperia circuit reached 51°C, with humidity at 43%. Stenshorne was again followed closely by Kas Haverkort, the Dutch driver from Van Amersfoort Racing, who finished in P2 with a gap of 0.243. Taking third place in this session was Andrea Kimi Antonelli, the Italian driver from Prema Racing, who had a gap of 0.342 on his best lap. Owen Tangavelou, the French driver representing Team Trident, concluded the second collective test in fourth position, trailing by 0.456. Spanish driver Lorenzo Fluxà, racing for Prema Racing, finished in fifth place with a gap of 0.474. Tim Tramnitz from R-ace GP took sixth place and, with a gap of 0.495, is the last driver to keep the gap under half a second from the session leader.
Nikhil Bohra, the Singaporean driver from Trident, finished seventh with a margin of 0.700 seconds, followed by the Brazilian driver Rafael Camara from Prema Racing, who trailed by 0.704 seconds. Joshua Dufek, the Swiss driver from Van Amersfoort Racing, took ninth place with a gap of 0.765 seconds, while Maya Weug, the driver from KIC Motorsport and the previous Rookie race winner, completed the top 10 with a time difference of 1.045 seconds.
The weekend’s schedule:
The second 50-minute collective test session will take place today, Friday, July 7, at 14:10. Saturday, July 8, will feature the first qualifying session, with Group A on the track from 8:30 to 8:45, followed by Group B from 8:50 to 9:05. Race 1 will then take place at 13:50 (30′ + 1 lap). On Sunday, July 9, there will be another qualifying session, with Group B on the track from 8:30 to 8:45 and Group A from 8:50 to 9:05. The final race of the weekend will start on Sunday at 16:20 (30′ + 1 lap).
