Matias Zagazeta will take part in his second Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine year. In the upcoming season, with the first action on the track starting as early as this week (March 17-18) with the first collective tests in Barcelona, the Peruvian driver born in September 2003 will wear R-ace GP colors.
The driver already tested with the Team during the winter and proved to be a good fit, as much as earning a seat for himself in one of the most competitive junior series.
The announce arrived today via R-ace GP official social media pages and is the second name unveiled in the French Team line-up after Tim Tramnitz.
Matias Zagazeta:
“R-ace GP is a fantastic team as they have proven themselves on the past seasons being consistently challenging for victories and podiums with all their drivers and eventually helping drivers reach the pinnacle of motorsport. Definitely looking forward to getting the season started. I am sure we will have a very successful season this year as a team and I can’t wait to achieve some memorable results together.”
Thibaut de Merindol – R-ace GP’s Team Principal:
“After a promising second place in the F4 British Championship in 2021 and despite a complicated first season in FRECA, Matias convinced us during winter testing. I am certain of his capacity to evolve during a second season in the championship. We are committed and optimistic about our ability to make him progress and bring him among the good performer in FRECA.”
