A few days after the Barcelona leg, the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine will be back in action this weekend at Mugello that will host the final round of the 2022 season.
The Tuscan track will entertain the decisive challenge for the title and the top 4, contested between Dino Beganovic, Gabriele Minì, Paul Aron and Hadrien David. The former just back from a not easy weekend in Spain, where he managed to get only two points, will have the chance to close the match already in Saturday’s race thanks to his 255 points. On the other hand, Minì (ART Grand Prix) and Aron (Prema Racing), who chase the Prema Racing leader with 217 and 216 points respectively, will have to make no mistakes. The Italian driver finished the Catalan round with a fifth and a seventh place, while the Estonian thanks to his victory in Race 1 and his fourth place in the final heat, reduced the gap to just one point from the Sicilian driver.
Among the protagonists of the Spanish weekend was David (R-ace GP), who thanks to an excellent pace, won two silver medals that allowed him to collect 208 points in the overall standings.
In Tuscany, all eyes will also be on the challenge for the top 5 between Kas Haverkort (Van Amersfoort Racing) and Gabriel Bortoleto (R-ace GP), with the latter just back from his first pole position in the series obtained last Sunday, as well as celebrating his second success of the season.
The fate of the rookie category will be decided in Italy, which will be contested between Leonardo Fornaroli (Trident Motorsport), Joshua Dufek (Van Amersfoort Racing) and Sebastian Montoya (Prema Racing). The only title to have already been awarded is the team one, won by Prema Racing in Barcelona.
At Mugello pre-collective tests will kick-off the weekend on Thursday with two more tests scheduled for Friday. Qualifying on day one of the race meeting is set to get underway at 09:00 on Saturday, 22th October, with the first of two 30-minute plus one lap races following at 14:10. On Sunday qualifying two will commence at 09:00. The second race will start at 14:45. Race one and two will be streamed live on the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine Facebook page and official YouTube channel.
