At Mugello Circuit, on the eve of the weekend, on-track activities began with the pre-event collective tests. On this occasion, Santiago Ramos from RPM set the fastest lap, recording a time of 1’43.261. The Championship leader, Martinius Stenshorne of R-ace GP, was second fastest today, with a narrow margin of only 0.026. Following behind was his teammate Tim Tramnitz, who set a gap of 0.202. The fourth-best lap in the pre-event collective tests was achieved by Dutch driver Kas Haverkort, who was 0.391 seconds behind the leader. Another excellent result came from Owen Tangavelou, the French driver from Trident Team, who secured the fifth position on track with a gap of 0.450. Close behind him was Italian driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli from Prema Racing, who set a gap of 0.471.
In seventh place today was Matias Zagazeta, the Peruvian driver from R-ace GP, trailing by 0.572 seconds, followed by Spanish driver Lorenzo Fluxà from Team Prema Racing, with a gap of 0.647. Maya Weug, the driver from the Finnish team KIC Motorsport and already Rookie race winner at Spa, set the ninth-fastest lap today with a gap of 0.702. Rounding out the top 10 in today’s long session was Austrian driver Charlie Wurz, representing ART Grand Prix, who set his own best lap time at 0.721 seconds behind Ramos.
The weekend’s schedule:
On Friday, July 7, there will be 50-minute collective tests starting at 9:50 and 14:10. Saturday, July 8, will feature the first qualifying session, with Group A on the track from 8:30 to 8:45, followed by Group B from 8:50 to 9:05. Race 1 will then take place at 13:50 (30′ + 1 lap). On Sunday, July 9, there will be another qualifying session, with Group B on the track from 8:30 to 8:45 and Group A from 8:50 to 9:05. The final race of the weekend will start on Sunday at 16:20 (30′ + 1 lap).
