In a mix of dry and wet conditions 36 drivers have attended the pre collective tests which kicked off the eighth weekend of the season at the Red Bull Ring. Rookie Joshua Durksen (Arden Motorsport) set the best time of 1:26.904 in the morning ahead of his teammate Eduardo Barrichello, who finished the session 0.057 seconds behind the Paraguayan.
Paul Aron and the championship leader Dino Beganovic, at the wheel of two Prema Racing cars were third and fourth, divided by just 0.003 seconds. Hadrien David (R-ace GP) finished fifth ahead Dilano Van’t Hoff (MP Motorsport).
Mexican Noel Leon (Arden Motorsport) secured the seventh quickest time at the end of the session ahead of Roman Bilinski (Trident Motorsport) and RPM’s new driver Pierre-Louis Chovet. The Italian Gabriele Minì (ART Grand Prix) rounded out the top 10.
With a wet track Aron topped the afternoon session, setting 1.28.970 ahead of the Alpine Affiliate program David, while Matias Zagazeta (G4 Racing) was third. In the spotlight once again Leon and Durksen, fourth and fifth respectively. Good performance for Gabriel Bortoleto (R-ace GP), Leonardo Fornaroli (Trident motorsport), Barrichello, Tim Tramnitz (Trident Motorsport) and Francesco Braschi (FA Racing) who covered the positions from sixth to tenth.
Tomorrow action will start at 11.04 am for the first collective test.
