Tim Tramnitz is the fastest on the Spanish track this morning and gets the pole in race 2

In the first qualifying session of the day in Barcelona, Tim Tramnitz emerged as the fastest driver on the track. The German driver from Race GP topped Group B with a time of 1’36.052, which will grant him the pole position for Race 2, scheduled for Sunday at 10:13. Tramnitz once again displayed his exceptional speed on the Spanish track, having previously set the fastest time during the pre-season collective tests. Sharing the front row with him tomorrow will be Andrea Kimi Antonelli from PREMA Racing. Antonelli secured the fastest lap in Group A with a time of 1’36.148.

The second row in Race 2 will feature Sami Meguetounif from MP Motorsport and Santiago Ramos from RPM, who closely trailed their respective session leaders (Meguetounif by +0.021 and Ramos by +0.014).

Trident’s driver Owen Tangavelou managed to keep the gap from Tramnitz just under a tenth of a second, securing a spot on the third row alongside Rafael Camara from PREMA Racing, who trailed his teammate in the first group by 0.140. Meanwhile, Van Amersfoort Racing’s Josh Dufek achieved the fourth position in Group B with a gap of +0.224 and will start on the fourth row alongside Macéo Capietto from RPM. Capietto recorded his best lap in Group A, trailing Antonelli by +0.176.

Laurens Van Hoepen from ART Grand Prix secured the sixth fastest lap with a gap of +0.293 and will be starting alongside Lorenzo Fluxa from PREMA Racing, who claimed the sixth position in Group A with a gap of +0.409. Race winner Kas Haverkort from Van Amersfoort Racing closed the session in seventh place, trailing Tramnitz by 0.314 seconds. Meanwhile, Michael Belov from G4 Racing secured the same position in Group A with a gap of +0.526.

G4 Racing’s Frenchman Alessandro Giusti recorded a lap time of +0.355, earning him a place on the eighth row alongside Championship leader Martinius Stenshorne from Race GP. Stenshorne achieved his best lap in Group A with a gap of +0.626.

Victor Bernier from MP Motorsport and Matias Zagazeta from R-ace GP rounded off the top 10 in Group B with gaps of +0.462 and +0.623, respectively. They will be accompanied on the ninth and tenth rows by Joshua Duerksen from Arden Motorsport with a gap of +0.633 and Dilano Van ‘T Hoff from MP Motorsport with a gap of +0.816.

At the end of the Group B session, Giovanni Maschio from Monolite encountered troubles as his car got stuck in the gravel, resulting in a red flag being deployed. The session resumed with just under 3 minutes remaining, but by that point, no one was able to challenge Tramnitz’s fastest lap time.
