Michale Belov (G4 Racing) obtains a fantastic pole position in the second qualifying session held this morning on the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia. The Russian driver has set a fantastic 1:28.890, good 0.202 faster than the race 1 winner and poleman Franco Colapinto (MP Motorsport). Third, and back in the top positions, is the championship leader, Grègoire Saucy (ART Grand Prix – 1:29.140), who has solved the technical problems with his car that slowed him down yesterday. Fourth is the first of the Rookies, Isack Hadjar (R-ace GP – 1:29.411), finally fast this weekend. Fifth is his teammate and first of the championship title contenders to Saucy, Hadrien David (1:29.415). Sixth is an excellent Gabriel Bortoleto (FA Racing – 1:29.411), second among the Rookies.
“This time all went well, even though the traffic is always a lot and the yellow flag at the end stopped me from improving even more my best lap time. The track this morning I think was slower in some curves”, said Belov after the session.
“I was improving in my last lap, but the yellow flag did not let me obtain my best result, but I am positive for this second position”, said Colapinto.
“I am really happy for this result. Yesterday I was P8, now P6. It is a very good position and I hope to make points and, why not, try to be first among the Rookies”, said Bortoleto.
